Edmonton: The Canadian government has made a big change in its policy on multiple entry visa and has stopped issuing 10-year tourist visa. Due to this, people coming to Canada may face problems.

In the new guidelines, immigration officers will be able to decide at their level whether to issue single entry or multiple entry visa. The officers will also decide for how long this visa should be issued. Earlier its maximum validity was up to 10 years or till the expiry of the travel document or biometric.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is facing a political crisis

It is believed that this change in policy has been made to reduce public anger against the political crisis facing Prime Minister Justin Trudeau over lack of housing, high cost of living and falling approval rating. Trudeau has already announced that he is reducing both temporary and permanent immigration.

Last month, Immigration Minister Marc Miller said the Canadian government should have acted earlier to stop the flow of temporary immigration into the country that is now leading to a housing crisis. The immigration department has clarified that multiple visa holders will be allowed to enter Canada from any country as needed during the validity period of the visa.

'Trump will improve India-Canada relations'

Prominent Indian-American community leader Sudhir Parikh has discussed important scenarios after Donald Trump's victory in the current presidential election. He talked about the Indian-American community's support to Trump along with the US' role in resolving the India-Canada diplomatic deadlock.

Parikh's organisation, which represents Hindus for Trump, a group of Indian Americans and South Asian Hindus, had come together to support Trump in this election. Parikh said that about half of the Indian Americans believe in the Republican philosophy, agenda and thinking.

Dispute continues between Canadian government and Indian government

Commenting on the India-Canada diplomatic row, Parikh said his group had raised the issue. We had a discussion and Trump had promised that if he is elected, he will help us resolve this crisis between the Canadian government and the Indian government.
