Washington. Indian Nikhil Gupta, accused of plotting to kill pro-Khalistan terrorist Gurpatwant Singh Pannun , has been extradited to the US from the Czech Republic. Nikhil Gupta is accused of being involved in the alleged failed assassination plot of Pannu in New York.

Nikhil will appear in Manhattan's lower court

Gupta is scheduled to appear in a lower court in Manhattan on Monday, a US District Court spokesperson said. The US Justice Department has alleged that Gupta (52) was an accomplice to the Indian government and that he and others helped plot the murder of Pannu in New York.

Many allegations against Nikhil

Let us tell you that in November last year, US Justice Department officials had filed several charges against Gupta after he was arrested in the Czech Republic in June 2023. He said that Gupta would be extradited to New York. Pannu is a terrorist declared by India, who holds American and Canadian citizenship.

US Justice Department issues indictment

Earlier in November, the US Justice Department had filed an indictment against a pro-Khalistan terrorist and an Indian national for his alleged involvement in a failed plot to assassinate New York-based Pannu.

The Justice Department claimed that an Indian government employee, not identified in the indictment filed in federal court in Manhattan, had recruited Nikhil Gupta to hire an assassin to carry out the murder, a plan which prosecutors said was foiled by US authorities.

Accused of conspiring with an Indian government employee

The Justice Department has claimed that an Indian government employee working in collaboration with others, including Gupta, conspired to murder Pannu early last year. It was alleged that Nikhil Gupta is an associate of the Indian government employee and described his involvement in international drug and arms trafficking in conversations.
