During this, Jaishankar said, "We all have full faith that this will establish us as 'Vishwa Bandhu', a country which is in a very turbulent world, in a very divided world, in a world of conflicts and tensions." At the same time, he also reacted on relations with neighboring countries Pakistan and China. He said that as far as Pakistan and China are concerned, relations with those countries are different and the problems there are also different.

Jaishankar further said that the government's focus is on resolving the border dispute with China. At the same time, India's policy regarding Pakistan is very clear. As long as Pakistan uses terrorism against India, the relations between the two countries cannot be good.

S Jaishankar further said, "Under the leadership of PM Modi, the country is moving forward on the policy of 'India First'. Under the leadership of PM Modi, this ministry has become a people-centric ministry."

 

Jaishankar is the first foreign secretary to assume the role of foreign minister

Before becoming the Foreign Minister in 2019, Jaishankar also served as the Foreign Secretary of India from 2015 to 2018. Significantly, he also became the first Foreign Secretary to assume the role of Foreign Minister.

He took over as India's foreign minister in 2019. His tenure saw many major global events, such as the Russia-Ukraine conflict, the Israel-Hamas war, and the COVID pandemic.
