News Topical, Digital Desk : The Kremlin said on Thursday that Russia has reiterated its invitation to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to come to Moscow for peace talks. Kremlin foreign policy adviser Yuri Ushakov said that if Zelensky comes to Moscow, his security will be guaranteed.

Moscow has yet to respond to the invitation. The Kremlin's statement came after the two countries exchanged soldiers killed in the fighting. It also declined to comment on rumors that Moscow and Kyiv had agreed to stop attacks on each other's energy infrastructure.

A new round of talks between Russian and Ukrainian negotiating delegations is scheduled for Sunday in Abu Dhabi. Meanwhile, in Chechnya, Kremlin-backed leader Ramzan Kadyrov called for an escalation of the war rather than peace. His comments reflect the hardliners' belief that Moscow is winning.
