News Topical, Digital Desk : A luxurious tourist cruise will operate on the Gomti River from July. The cruise will carry up to 200 people at a time. It will include a conference hall, VIP lounge, digital screens, and an open restaurant. Construction of the cruise is underway on the riverfront near Hanuman Setu. Tickets for the cruise are proposed to be ₹300 per person. Lunch, dinner, and buffet services will require separate payments.
The LDA invited RFPs for operating a tourist cruise on the Gomti River. Kolkata-based companies, Messrs. Balaji Sales and Purnima Enterprises, have been selected. LDA Vice President Prathamesh Kumar stated, "The cruise will be constructed at a cost of ₹16 crore, with the entire cost borne by the company. Once the cruise begins operations, the company will generate ₹1.6 million in revenue annually for the LDA."
The cruise will be 45 meters long and 10 meters wide. It will be able to carry up to 200 people at a time for a river cruise, completing one trip in 30 to 45 minutes. The basement of the cruise will feature a modern conference hall, digital screens, and a VIP lounge. The upper deck will also feature an open-air restaurant. Five marine crew members, including the captain, will be deployed on the tourist cruise.
At the start of the ride, the captain will address the cruise crew via the public address system. Children will be provided with interesting information about the cruise's features and operation, as well as marine life.
