News Topical, Digital Desk : A closing parade was held on Thursday at the Officers Training College in the cantonment to mark the successful completion of the Medical Officers Basic Course (MOBC) for military medics. The nine-week course provided intensive combat medical support training to young Armed Forces medical and dental officers.

Military officers also participated in the Trauma Life Support (ATLS) Provider Course, where they were trained in modern technology. 123 officers, including 38 women military officers, from all three services participated in the course. The course closing parade was held in accordance with military traditions.

Captain Sahil Tanwar of 159 Infantry Battalion Territorial Army (TA) was adjudged the best all-round officer of the course and was awarded the Commandant's Rolling Trophy. Captain Sahil Tanwar was also awarded the Major Laishram Jyotin Singh Ashok Chakra Memorial Trophy for being adjudged the best officer in the field events.

The nine-week course provides young Armed Forces medical and dental officers with intensive combat medical support training to enable them to perform their duties efficiently and transform these young professionals into uniformed medical and dental officers. The officers also participated in the Trauma Life Support (ATLS) Provider Course, learning about the latest technologies shaping today's generation of warfare.

The parade was saluted by Lieutenant General Shivendra Singh, Commandant, Army Medical Corps Centre and College. Lieutenant General Singh exhorted the officers to uphold the traditions of the Armed Forces Medical Services by maintaining the highest levels of professional competence. The General advised the officers to continuously update and enhance the knowledge acquired at the Officers Training College and encouraged them to remain committed to providing quality patient care to soldiers both on the battlefield and in peacetime. Parents of the Army officers also witnessed the parade on this occasion.
