News Topical, Digital Desk : Bangladesh's interim government on Friday warned media houses against broadcasting or propagating statements of Awami League leader and ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, saying legal action will be taken against those violating the order.

Do not publicise the statements of Sheikh Hasina

The statement issued said, “We are warning the media officials involved in such criminal propaganda activities. If anyone broadcasts the statements of Sheikh Hasina in future, immediate legal action will be taken.”

The announcement said that the broadcast and promotion of Hasina's audio on television channels, news and online portals is a serious violation of the Anti-Terrorism Act 2009. Hasina has been described as a convicted criminal and a fugitive accused of mass murders and crimes against humanity.

Haseena case is being run

Hasina, who was ousted on August 5, 2024, is being tried in absentia by the International Crimes Tribunal on several charges.

 

Pakistan Foreign Minister to visit Bangladesh

Meanwhile, Pakistan Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar on Friday confirmed that he will visit Bangladesh on Saturday. Dar said he is set to visit Dhaka on a two-day visit to bring Pakistan and Bangladesh closer.

He will hold meetings with various leaders, including Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus and Foreign Affairs Adviser Mohammad Tauhid Hussain, the Foreign Office said.
