News Topical, Digital Desk : Fifteen Jews lost their lives in a terrorist attack on a Sydney beach in Australia on Sunday. Amid the indiscriminate gunfire, a man arrived as a savior and apprehended one of the two terrorists. He was also shot, but he did not drop his gun, saving many lives.

Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has also visited the Bondi Beach hero in hospital. He has been identified as Ahmed Al Ahmed. Prime Minister Anthony called Ahmed "an Australian hero" who risked his own life to save strangers.

Ahmed clashed with terrorists

On Sunday evening, the Jewish community was celebrating a special festival at Sydney's Bondi Beach. Meanwhile, two Pakistani-origin attackers arrived at the scene and opened fire. The incident occurred around 6:45 p.m. Sunday. The attackers were a father and son. During the exchange of fire, Ahmed snatched a gun from one of the attackers, and he was also hit by two bullets.

After meeting Ahmed, PM Anthony also spoke to the media. He said Ahmed offered a message of unity in the face of terrorism. According to PM Anthony,

Ahmed, who was bleeding profusely in the firing, has been admitted to St. George Hospital in Australia for treatment. According to Ahmed's lawyer, Issa, "Ahmed was shot while saving lives, but he has no regrets. He is ready to display this bravery again. He is badly wounded by bullets. The pain is overwhelming him."

Ahmed suffered significant injuries to his left arm. A bullet remains lodged in his left shoulder, which has not been removed. Born in Syria, Ahmed arrived in Australia in 2006 and was granted citizenship in 2012. However, his citizenship was later revoked due to legal charges.
