News Topical, Digital Desk : Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has won a big victory in the general elections held in Bangladesh. In the 13th parliamentary elections, the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) led by Tarique Rahman has won 211 seats out of 299, while its main rival Jamaat-e-Islami had to be content with only 68 seats. In Bangladesh, where concerns are being raised about the safety of minorities, three Hindu candidates have won in this election. The biggest thing is that all three were candidates of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party and won on the ticket of the same party. 

Gayeshwar Chandra Roy won by defeating Jamaat-e-Islami candidate

The most prominent Hindu candidate to win the Bangladesh elections on a BNP ticket was senior leader Gayeswar Chandra Roy, who won from the Dhaka-3 constituency. Roy is a member of the BNP's Standing Committee and has previously served as a state minister. Roy secured 99,163 votes from the Dhaka-3 constituency, defeating Jamaat-e-Islami candidate Mohammad Shahinur Islam.

Nitai Roy Chowdhury wins from Magura parliamentary constituency

Nitai Roy Chowdhury, the second Hindu MP, won the Magura-2 parliamentary constituency on a BNP ticket. He defeated Mustarshid Billah of the Jamaat-e-Islami party by over 30,000 votes. Nitai Roy Chowdhury received 1,47,896 votes, while Jamaat candidate Billah received 1,17,018. Interestingly, Chowdhury and Gayeshwar Chandra Roy are related to each other. 

Advocate Deepen Dewan wins 

The third Hindu candidate to win on a Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) ticket is Advocate Dipen Dewan, who won the Rangamati parliamentary seat. Dipen Dewan faced independent candidate Pahal Chakma, who received 21,544 votes, while the winner received 31,222 votes.
