Polio case found after 16 years
Let us tell you that last week in Pakistan, authorities recorded the first case of polio in the last 16 years in the capital Islamabad, which is a setback to the national efforts to eradicate this dangerous virus from the country.
12 cases reported from Balochistan
The country came close to achieving zero poliovirus cases in 2021 when only one infection was reported. So far this year, 12 cases have been reported from Balochistan, three from Sindh and one each from Punjab and Islamabad.
Separately in Peshawar, the capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, two motorcyclists threw suicide jackets when police signaled them to stop at Jamil Chowk on the Ring Road. The bomb squad has been called in to defuse the jackets containing seven kilograms of explosives.
