Tokyo: China does not desist from its nefarious activities. Once again China has done such an act, to which Japan has objected. A Chinese spy plane was seen in Japan's airspace for about two minutes. Japan's top government spokesman said on Tuesday that a day earlier, a Chinese military aircraft had entered Japanese airspace for some time. He called this incident an 'absolutely unacceptable' territorial violation and a threat to security.

Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshimasa Hayashi said a Chinese Y-9 reconnaissance aircraft briefly entered Japan's southwestern airspace on Monday, forcing the military to withdraw its fighter jets. He said this was the first time the Japanese Self-Defense Force detected a Chinese military aircraft in Japan's airspace.

'This is totally unacceptable to us'

"The entry of Chinese military aircraft into Japan's airspace is not only a serious violation of our territorial rights but also a threat to security. We find this absolutely unacceptable," Hayashi said at a press conference.

Circled for two minutes over Danjo Island

The Joint Staff of the Japanese Self-Defense Forces said late Monday that a Chinese Y-9 reconnaissance aircraft circled for two minutes over Danjo Island off the southwest coast of Japan's southernmost main island of Kyushu. It said officials were analyzing the Chinese military activity. The Joint Staff said Japan scrambled fighter jets and warned the Chinese aircraft to leave.

Japan strongly objected to the violation of airspace

Hayashi stressed that China's military activity around Japan has become increasingly aggressive in recent years. Hayashi said Japan will continue to monitor Chinese military activity and do its best to respond to potential anti-airspace violations. Japanese Deputy Foreign Minister Masataka Okano summoned China's acting ambassador Shi Yong to strongly object to the airspace violations, the Foreign Ministry said in a statement. Okano also demanded that China take steps to avoid such incidents.
