New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who arrived on a three-day visit to the US, held an important meeting with President Joe Biden. The two leaders discussed enhancing bilateral cooperation and global and regional issues, including the Indo-Pacific region.

During his meeting with PM Modi, Biden advocated reforms in global institutions. He said that India should get permanent membership in the United Nations Security Council i.e. veto power. America openly supports this. 

Talks focused on strong partnership

"The discussion focused on strengthening India-US partnership in areas of mutual interest. The two leaders exchanged views on issues pertaining to the Indo-Pacific region as well as global issues," the Prime Minister's Office said in a post on X. The two leaders discussed ways to further enhance bilateral cooperation in areas of mutual interest on the sidelines of the Quad Summit, the Ministry of External Affairs said in a press release.

Biden praises PM Modi

US President Joe Biden praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi's historic visits to Poland and Ukraine. Let us tell you that this was the first visit of an Indian Prime Minister after decades.
