News Topical, Digital Desk : It has been raining continuously in Delhi-NCR since 10 pm last night (30 July), which is continuing till today (31 July) morning. Due to this rain, there has been relief from the humidity and heat that has been continuing for 2 days, but there has been waterlogging and traffic jam in many areas. Yesterday, the capital almost came to a standstill due to long queues of vehicles.

According to the Meteorological Department, similar rains may continue in the capital for the next 4 to 5 days. Safdarjung Observatory has recorded 15 mm of rain till 5:30 pm on Tuesday.

Roads filled with water, even the airport affected

Due to the continuous rain since night, areas like Shastri Bhawan, ITO, Connaught Place, Janpath, Jorbagh and Aerocity are flooded. There is difficulty in commuting due to waterlogging near the airport.

People are facing a lot of problems due to rain in Noida and surrounding areas. The Meteorological Department has warned that there is a possibility of rain along with thunder in some areas.

Traffic police advisory, avoid these routes

A few hours ago, Delhi Traffic Police has issued an advisory, in which it has been told that one carriageway has been closed due to road collapse on Chand Cinema Road. The affected route is the road from Chand Cinema Road towards Kalyanpuri Road. The alternative route for this is: Kalyanpuri Road → turn right → Ghazipur Road → Trilokpuri Crossing → turn right → Vasundhara Road → turn left → Kotla Road.

The traffic is slow and policemen are present on the spot. Travelers have been advised to plan ahead and keep an eye on traffic police channels for updates

What will the weather be like in the coming days?

According to the Meteorological Department, the maximum temperature in Delhi-NCR will remain around 33–35 degrees Celsius till August 5. The minimum temperature recorded on Wednesday was 25.8 degrees, which is 1.3 degrees below normal. The maximum temperature was 32.7 degrees, which is 1.7 degrees below normal. The next 4 to 5 days will be cloudy and rainy, due to which the temperature will remain stable.
