News Topical, Digital Desk : India's National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval and China's Foreign Minister Wang Yi held a phone conversation. In which both sides made it clear that New Delhi and Islamabad will resolve their differences through dialogue and achieve a permanent ceasefire.

China's Foreign Minister also spoke to Ishaq Dar

Wang also spoke to Pakistan's Deputy Prime Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Xinhua reported. Hostility between India and Pakistan escalated after the Indian Army struck terror infrastructure in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) on May 7 in retaliation to the Pahalgam attack that claimed the lives of 26 people.

'India and Pakistan will resolve their differences'

In his talks with Doval, Wang expressed hope that India and Pakistan will maintain calm and restraint, properly handle differences through dialogue and consultation, and avoid escalating the situation. Wang said China supports and hopes that India and Pakistan will achieve a comprehensive and lasting ceasefire through dialogue, which is in the fundamental interest of the two countries and meets the common aspiration of the international community.

Wang further said that China condemns the terrorist attack in Pahalgam and opposes all forms of terrorism. Noting that the world is undergoing both change and turmoil, Wang said peace and stability in Asia have been hard-won and must be cherished.

'India and Pakistan are neighbours of China'

Wang further said that India and Pakistan are neighbours that cannot be separated and both are neighbours of China. Doval then responded by saying, the Pahalgam attack has resulted in serious losses on the Indian side and India needs to take anti-terrorism action.
