News Topical, Digital Desk : A dispute between two groups over the management of a local temple in Majra village, Sabarkantha, Gujarat, escalated into violence on Friday night, with an angry mob torching several vehicles and vandalizing them. Twenty people were injured in the violence. 

Following the violence, the situation in Majra village deteriorated significantly. Given the sensitivity of the incident, police were deployed to the scene. Currently, the situation remains peaceful, but police are maintaining strict vigilance. According to police, there is an old rivalry between the two groups, which led to the altercation.  

Superintendent of Police gave this information

Sabarkantha Deputy Superintendent of Police Atul Patel said, "Stone-throwing and arson occurred between two groups in Majra village around 10:30 pm last night. An FIR has been filed against approximately 110 to 120 people." 

Several two-wheelers, more than 10 four-wheelers, and the windows of some houses were damaged in the incident. Approximately 20 people have been detained and are being questioned in connection with the incident. Approximately 10 people have been injured so far. 

Police engaged in scanning CCTV

Police are searching for CCTV footage from nearby areas to identify the accused. A large police force has been deployed to maintain peace in the area. Police also conducted an extensive flag march on Saturday morning. 

DSP Patel said, "The situation in Majra village is now under control, and security forces have been deployed to maintain peace. A thorough investigation is underway to identify those who instigated the violence. Police have appealed to the public to cooperate with the investigation. People have been cautioned against rumors."
