According to the Vedic calendar, the Chaturthi Tithi of the Krishna Paksha (dark fortnight) of the Kartik month begins at 10:54 PM on October 9th and ends at 7:38 PM on November 10th. The Tithi is calculated from sunrise. Therefore, Vakratunda Sankashti Chaturthi will be celebrated on October 10th. Moonrise on Vakratunda Sankashti Chaturthi will occur at 8:13 PM in the evening.

Method of worship

On the Chaturthi Tithi of the Krishna Paksha (dark fortnight) of the month of Kartika, wake up before sunrise. Begin your day by meditating on Lord Ganesha. Clean your home. After completing your daily chores, take a bath with water mixed with the Ganges. After sipping water and vowing to fast, wear yellow clothing.

Now worship Lord Ganesha by performing Panchopachar. During this time, offer yellow flowers, fruits, modaks, and durva grass to Lord Ganesha. Finally, perform aarti. Fast throughout the day and perform aarti in the evening. Break the fast the next day after performing puja and rituals.
