Vaikuntha Chaturdashi 2025 Katha

Once, Lord Vishnu visited Kashi to worship his beloved deity, Lord Shiva. He resolved to worship Lord Vishwanath with one thousand golden lotus flowers on Kartik Shukla Chaturdashi. After the Abhisheka, when Lord Vishnu began offering the lotus flowers, Lord Shiva hid one of the thousand lotus flowers to test his devotion. When Lord Vishnu realized that one flower was missing, he offered his eyes to Lord Shiva to fulfill his vow, as Lord Hari is also known as "Kamal-Nayan." Lord Shiva was very pleased with Lord Vishnu's devotion and sacrifice. He immediately appeared and returned the eye to Lord Hari.

Shiva said to Vishnu, "I am extremely pleased with your supreme devotion. From today on, this date will be known as 'Vaikuntha Chaturdashi.' Any devotee who worships me and you together on this day will attain my abode, Kailash, and your abode, Vaikuntha." After this, Lord Shiva also presented the Sudarshan Chakra to Lord Vishnu.
