Rudraprayag. Kedarnath Dham: The Kedarnath pedestrian route may have been made operational for movement, but danger zones have emerged at many places. Due to heavy rainfall in the area on Friday night, the risk of accidents has increased at these places.

Passengers did not leave even on Sunday

Even on Sunday, pilgrims did not proceed beyond Sonprayag for Kedarnath Dham. In view of the rain and road conditions, pilgrims were not allowed to proceed further. However, local people and traders are being allowed to go.

In view of this, on Saturday, no pilgrim was allowed to go to the Dham by foot. During this time, more than 50 pilgrims wanted to leave for the Dham from Sonprayag, who were stopped there for security reasons. The journey is continuing through heli service.

The pedestrian route was opened for travel on Friday

The Gaurikund-Kedarnath pedestrian route which was destroyed in the disaster has been opened for travel on Friday after repair. Currently, the route has been widened by only one to one and a half meters in the disaster affected area.

Pedestrian movement between Sonprayag and Gaurikund has already started, but due to continuous heavy rainfall in Kedar Valley, there is a danger of accidents at many places on the trekking route.

Apart from this, Gadera river is in spate near Jangalchatti, crossing which is not without danger. In such a situation, keeping in mind the safety of the pilgrims, the police-administration did not allow them to go beyond Sonprayag. These pilgrims were advised to visit Triyuginarayan and Kalimath temple.
