
News Topical, Digital Desk : Yesterday, a 75-year-old woman died after getting stuck between a car and a bus in Mumbai. The woman was returning from a yoga class when a BEST electric bus ran over her. The woman died on the spot.
This incident happened in Malabar Hill in South Mumbai. The woman was returning from her yoga class around 9:10 am on Tuesday. She met with an accident on the way.
How did the accident happen?
The woman had reached near the government Sahyadri Guest House. Just then a bus of Mumbai Central Depot going towards Kamala Nehru Park reached the spot. Seeing the bus coming, the woman stood near the car. Meanwhile, the bus driver drove the bus so close to the car that the woman got crushed between the car and the bus.
The deceased woman has been identified as 75-year-old Neeta Nitin Shah. According to the police, before the accident, Neeta's leg was hit by the left wheel of the bus and she got stuck between the car and the bus. Locals rushed Neeta to JJ Hospital, where she was declared dead.
The driver got down after hearing the scream
The police have taken the bus driver into custody and registered a case. The driver says that he was not aware of the woman's presence at all. Hearing the woman's screams, he stopped the bus and got down and saw that the woman was badly injured. However, she died before she could be taken to the hospital.
