Varanasi: The new gate being installed near Gyanvapi in the Shri Kashi Vishwanath Dham complex is an initiative to control the increasing number of devotees in the temple and to stop suspicious people. This decision was taken in the security committee meeting of the temple administration. It is the responsibility of the police administration to implement the decision of the security committee.
The temple administration says that this step has not been taken to stop anyone or to hurt anyone. There are misconceptions about this. Rumours are being spread unnecessarily. The security of the temple and Gyanvapi is of utmost importance and new changes are being made in the security system every day to prevent suspicious people.
After the dispute, it is up to the security committee to decide whether the gate will be installed or not. On the other hand, the mosque side is apprehensive about the frame not being removed to make the gate. They have only one question that what kind of security issue has suddenly arisen that a new gate needs to be installed.
In response to this, the administration has only one answer that this is the recommendation of the security committee. Gate number four is the only way through which the worshippers go to Gyanvapi to offer Friday prayers. Shahar-e-Mufti, Imam-e-Juma Gyanvapi Maulana Abdul Batin Nomani says that the way the administration was hastily installing the gate without talking to the Anjuman Intezamia Masajid is creating apprehensions.
The court has decided that no new construction or work will be done in the entire complex without the consent of the Anjuman Intezamia. The mosque side also has objections to the design of the gate.
Nomani says that the frame of the gate has idols of gods and goddesses, Swastika etc. on it. Looking at it, it seems that this is the gate of a temple. The design of the gate should have been reflecting the culture of both sides. He said that the protest will continue until the frame is removed.
