Varanasi. Not one or two but 489 houses in the city are in a dilapidated condition. Out of these, more than 100 houses are in a very dilapidated condition. This building can collapse at any time. Despite this, the building owner is not ready to vacate it. Most of them are tenants. Due to being controversial, the building owner is not getting it repaired. In such a situation, more than 500 families are living under the roof of death.

Building number CH 7/133 Senpura has become completely dilapidated. The platter of this building is breaking and falling. The balcony of this 150-year-old building is hanging towards the road. Even after this, the people living in it are not ready to leave this building.

Similarly, building number D 30/34 is also standing with the support of crutches. Tenants are living in it. Its owner lives in Kolkata. This building is also a threat to the neighborhood. Even after this, no one is ready to say anything.

The corporation has already given notice to this building in the year 2021. The people living nearby have also appealed to the regional councilor to demolish the building. Even after this, this building cannot be demolished till now.

Building number CK D 10/75 on Manikarnika Ghat Road is also turning into a ruin. In view of this, the corporation issued a notice to building owner Nirmala Devi Mishra on August 7. Since the building is located on Manikarnika Ghat Road, a major accident can occur if it collapses.

Jalkal wrote a letter to the corporation to demolish two dilapidated buildings

The Shahi Nallah is not being cleaned due to two dilapidated buildings in Durgaghat. Recently, the Jalkal department has ordered to vacate eight buildings of Durgaghat. On Thursday, the Jalkal department has written a letter to the Chief Engineer of the Municipal Corporation for demolition of building number K. 22/70 and K. 22/75.

It has been said that due to both the buildings being dilapidated, the cleaning of Shahi Nala is getting affected. In a letter issued by the Executive Engineer of Jalkal (Central Zone), it has been said that the Shahi Nala going under the buildings has got blocked. The drain has also got blocked due to the foundation soil, bricks etc. of the buildings built above the drain. Due to this, sewer water drainage has also got obstructed.
