Lucknow : After the government's strictness, police from 52 police stations of the commissioner has been deployed to search for the absconding molestation accused and rioters in the Gomtinagar case. Apart from this, five special teams, including surveillance, have been deployed. The footage of the rioters has been sent to all the stations in charge. The police have so far arrested 16 accused in this case.

The police will catch the accused as soon as they are traced based on the footage. Apart from this, they will be traced as soon as the miscreants and hooligans come under the purview of the cameras installed at the intersections under Safe City. The photographs of all the accused have been provided to the Safe City Control Room based on the footage. The photographs of the absconding accused have been uploaded to the system in the control room.

The speciality of the cameras is that as soon as the hooligan comes in the range of the camera on the intersection or road, the software in the control room will match his face with his photo. If the photo and face match, the police will get his location. After this, the employee sitting in the control room will call the police personnel deployed at the intersection and immediately get the accused arrested.

So far, 16 accused have been arrested. 

Deputy Commissioner of Police East Shashank Singh said that 16 accused have been arrested so far. The accused include Pawan Yadav, resident of Gomtinagar Badi Jugauli, Sunil Kumar Bari, Vineetkhand resident Mohd. Arbaaz, Viraj Sahu, Vinaykhand resident Arjun Agrahari, Ratan Gupta, Vigyankhand resident Aman Gupta, Barabanki's Badosarai resident Anil Kumar, Unnao's Ajgain resident Priyanshu Sharma, Kalyanpur resident Ashish Singh, Vikas Bhandari, Hazratganj's Prayag Narayan Road resident Manish Kumar, Abhishek Tiwari, Gomtinagar Extension resident Krishnakant, Khargapur resident Jai Kishan and Abhishek Kumar. Six bikes have been recovered from the accused. Police teams are conducting raids in search of the absconding molestation accused and others. Soon, they will also be arrested.

On Wednesday afternoon, during heavy rain, the road in front of Hotel Taj was filled with knee-deep water. During this, hooligans stopped bikes, scooters and car riders. They kept throwing dirty water on them. Meanwhile, suddenly, an elderly man was coming on a scooter. The hooligans started throwing water at him. After this, some people came from behind and pulled his scooter. The old man fell in the water, then the hooligans attacked a woman who was going on a bike with an acquaintance. They threw water on her, made her fall from the bike and molested her.

After some time, this video went viral on social media. People tagged UP Police and Lucknow Police Commissionerate and posted the video on X. Police took cognizance of the matter, but washed their hands off the matter by filing a case under mild sections.

On Thursday morning, the matter escalated, and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath was aware of it. Deputy Commissioner of Police East Prabal Pratap Singh, ADCP East Amit Kumawat, and ACP Gomtinagar Anshu Jain were removed from their posts for negligence in the matter. Additionally, Inspector Gomtinagar Deepak Kumar Pandey, Ambedkar Chowki Incharge Rishi Vivek, Inspector Kapil Kumar, constable Dharamveer Singh and Virendra Singh were suspended.
