Lucknow. Malihabad's former MLA and Congress leader Indal Rawat was arrested by Gomti Nagar police on Thursday night in a case of Rs. 2.5 crore fraud. Police questioned Indal Rawat for about two hours in which all the allegations were found to be true. ACP Gomti Nagar Anshu Jain told that Raj Infra Housing Pvt. Ltd.'s Managing Director Rajesh Pandey had accused the former MLA of preparing documents, registering the house fraudulently and embezzling Rs. 2.52 crore. The case was filed on the court's order.

ACP said that Rajesh Pandey, Managing Director of Raj Infra Housing Private Limited, had filed a case in February, making serious allegations against the former MLA. The Managing Director had alleged that in 2014, the former MLA contacted the company and told them that he had a piece of land in Behta Sabauli. Make an agreement on this and build a six-storey building, after which the company made an agreement with the former MLA. After this, Rs 2 crore 52 lakh was charged from the former MLA. Rs 49 lakh was first given to Indal Rawat in his account.

For the second time, Rs 1 crore 48 lakh was transferred to the account. Rs 55 lakh was given in cash to Indal Rawat. Meanwhile, the company came to know that this land is not in the name of the MLA. After this, the company contacted the MLA and told him the problem, then the MLA said that due to some problem the land could not be transferred in his name, the documents will be corrected soon, but no solution was found. After this, the money was asked back. The former MLA refused to return the money.

Many cases are registered against the former MLA

ACP said that several cases are registered against Indal Rawat in various police stations. On Thursday, he was arrested in a case of robbery registered in Gomti Nagar. One of the cases was filed by a woman resident of Madiyanv village, in which he was accused of occupying a house.
