Where was the film shot?
A very popular song of this film is 'Husn Pahadon Ka, O Saiba' which was sung by Lata Mangeshkar and Suresh Wadkar. The way this song was filmed in apple orchards, mustard fields and on the banks of Bhagirathi was liked a lot. It was shot in Dharali. The same Dharali valley which is today immersed in silence and grief.

The visuals in the film were the hallmark of the film, making the beauty of the valley settle in the eyes of the people. It was here that Mandakini, as the innocent pahadi girl Ganga, roamed the valleys, bathed in waterfalls and brought to life a tale of love and separation.
Mandakini's costumes connect
The song Tujh Bulaayein Yeh Meri Baahein from the film, shot in Tilagarh, and her iconic white sari scene are still etched in people's memory. It became so popular that it came to be known as the 'Mandakini Falls'. The combination of traditional Garhwali attire and Rawain jewellery worn by her in the song reflected the deep cultural soul of the region.
When did nature's fury come
The Harshil post office shown in the film, where Ganga asks the meaning of the name "Naren" in one scene, remains a favourite spot among tourists. Similarly, the Suryakund waterfall, the GMVN guest house and the Bhairav valley are also favourite spots among tourists. All of these were once full of life and are now damaged by the fury of nature. The fury of nature that hit Dharali on August 5 submerged everything.
This stormy flood buried many houses and many were swept away by the strong current. 5 people have been confirmed dead in this deluge and many people are still reported missing.
