
News Topical, Digital Desk : In the case of the death of Jyoti Sharma, a BDS student at Sharda University in Greater Noida, under suspicious circumstances, the internal investigation committee has submitted its report to the VC of the university. This report is based on the investigation of the facts related to the suicide of the student in the hostel located in the campus premises. However, the family members of the deceased have not been given any information about this report so far.
The student's father, Ramesh Jangra, said that he had asked for a copy of the report from the university management through email on Tuesday and Wednesday, but has not received any response so far. He says that the university management had earlier asked for 5 days to submit the report,
But even after the passage of time, transparency was not maintained, due to which the family has now lost faith in the investigation process of the university. He also said that he will email the university again to ask for the report and will also send a copy of it to other police officials including the DCP.
The report of the internal committee is different from the police investigation
In this case, ACP Vivek Ranjan Rai said that the report submitted by the internal committee is not a part of the police investigation, but the report can be sought if required. The police is conducting its own independent investigation and action will be taken as per the legal process.
Supreme Court took suo motu cognizance, asked to submit report
The Supreme Court has taken suo motu cognizance of this sensitive matter and has summoned a report. During the hearing on Monday, the court has directed the police and the university administration to submit the report within 14 days. Ramesh Jangra said that as per the court's instructions, both the parties will have to submit the report.
A case was filed after the student committed suicide, two professors are in jail
It is noteworthy that a student Jyoti Sharma had committed suicide by hanging herself in the university hostel a few days ago. In this case, on the complaint of the student's father, a case was registered against 6 named persons including a professor, associate professor, dean and some unknown people.
So far, Assistant Professor Shari Vashisht and Associate Professor Mahinder Singh Chauhan have been arrested and sent to jail in this case. Now everyone's eyes are fixed on what report the police and the university present to the Supreme Court and whether it will reveal the real reason behind the student's death.
