News Topical, Digital Desk : A horrific accident has happened in Kenya. A bus carrying mourners from a funeral overturned here, killing 21 people in this accident. According to police, the bus was going from the western city of Kakamega to the city of Kisumu, where the accident happened.

The bus overturned on Friday evening

A bus carrying mourners back home from a funeral in southwestern Kenya overturned and fell into a ditch on Friday evening, killing at least 21 people, police said.

 

The dead include 10 women, 10 men and a 10-year-old girl

According to a local police officer Peter Maina, as the bus approached a roundabout at high speed, the driver lost control and the bus fell into the ditch. He said the dead included 10 women, 10 men and a 10-year-old girl.

Road accidents are common in Kenya and the East African region, where roads are often narrow and poor and have many potholes. Police often blame speeding drivers for road accidents.

 

Nine people died in an accident in Naivasha city

In another accident on Thursday, nine people were killed in a bus crash in Naivasha town in Nakuru County. Police said the victims were 32 workers who were on their way to work when the bus crashed.
