News Topical, Digital Desk : President Donald Trump said Friday that he will meet Russian President Vladimir Putin in Alaska on Aug. 15. He announced the meeting in a post on social media and said more details would be provided later.

Trump was angry at Putin for not meeting him earlier

Earlier, Trump said he would meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin “very soon” to discuss ending the war in Ukraine, a potentially major development after he spent weeks expressing frustration that more steps weren’t being taken to calm the fighting.

Peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan

Elsewhere in the world, Trump, speaking to reporters at the White House after announcing a framework aimed at ending the decades-long conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan, declined to say when or where he would meet Putin but planned to announce a location soon.

Trump will meet before meeting with Zelensky

He also suggested that his meeting with the Russian leader could take place before any meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. Trump said that we are going to have a meeting with Russia, starting with Russia. And we will announce a location. I think that location will be very popular.

Trump said this meeting could have happened earlier also

He further said that it could have happened earlier, but unfortunately people have to make security arrangements. Otherwise I would have done it sooner. He will do the same. He would like to meet as soon as possible. I agree with this. But we will announce it very soon.
