Gorakhpur. Revenue employees who are negligent in the work of ordinary people related to the tehsil have started facing action. On Tuesday, nine accountants in seven tehsils of the district have been suspended on charges of negligence.
Among these, two accountants have each been suspended in Bansgaon and Khajni, and one accountant in Campierganj, Sahajanwa, Gola, Sadar, and Chauri Chaura tehsils. These accountants are accused of unnecessarily hanging up undisputed inheritance cases, hanging up income, caste, and residence certificates and keeping Section 24 cases pending despite SDM's order.
Bansgaon SDM Kesari Nandan Tiwari suspended two accountants on Tuesday. Both accountants had unnecessarily delayed undisputed inheritance cases. Over a dozen accountants and kanungos may face action in the next few days.
District Magistrate Krishna Karunesh directed action against negligent employees while reviewing the disposal of income, caste, and residence certificates. Since then, such cases have been searched in all tehsils, which are being unnecessarily kept pending.
Anil Kumar Bharti in Campierganj, Mithilesh Pandey in Sahajanwa, Lokesh Kumar in Gola, Satish Singh and Sangam in Khajni and Sharadchandra in Chauri Chaura have been suspended.
Anand Kumar has been suspended in Sadar Tehsil, while three accountants have been warned. District Magistrate Krishna Karunesh said that instructions have been given to identify the employees who are unnecessarily delaying the case and take action against them. Action is being taken at the level of SDM.
