Meerut SSP gave this information

Meerut SSP Avinash Pandey stated that a preliminary investigation into the cause of death is underway. However, the exact cause of death will only be revealed after the post-mortem report is released. Police and excise department inquiries into the alcohol believed to have caused the deaths revealed that several cases of tetrapack liquor were sold on Friday, but there are no reports of any untoward incident elsewhere. The viscera will be preserved for the post-mortem examination. The cause of death will be clear after the post-mortem report.

The family created a ruckus

Baburam's son, Sachin, told the police that seeing their health deteriorating, all three were immediately admitted to a private hospital near the toll plaza, where Ankit and Jitendra died, while Baburam succumbed to his injuries during treatment. Upon receiving the news of the deaths, the family created a ruckus, accusing the victims of consuming poisonous liquor.

Police is investigating the matter

Upon receiving information about the incident, District Magistrate V.K. Singh, SSP Avnish Pandey, and SP City Ayush Vikram, along with other officials, arrived at the scene and took stock of the situation. Taking the matter seriously, the police have sealed the liquor shop and ordered a prompt investigation into the entire incident. During the preliminary investigation, four cans were recovered from the scene. Three of these cans are said to be of the "Dilkash" brand, while one was recovered with the name "Bunty Jeera Masala." It is suspected that the consumption of this liquor contributed to the deterioration of the condition of the people; this will only be confirmed after the forensic report is received.
