News Topical, Digital Desk : Ukraine has intensified attacks on Russian energy plants. The latest attack has taken place on Kirishi refinery which is considered to be one of the largest oil refineries in Russia. Hundreds of drones were launched to attack Ukraine on Saturday-Sunday night. Russia claimed to have shot down 361 of these but many drones were successful in hitting the targets. Ukraine has called this attack successful.

The Ukraine war, the biggest war in Europe since World War II, is now witnessing a wave of drone attacks. Russia and Ukraine are carrying out drone attacks on each other's territories in large numbers. Ukraine is targeting Russia's oil refineries, ports and oil pipelines with drone attacks. These attacks by Ukraine are affecting the economy of Russia, the world's second-largest oil exporter, and the international oil market is also being affected by it.

Ukraine attacks Kirishi refinery

The Russian Defense Ministry has said that in addition to the majority of drones launched by Ukraine, four guided aerial bombs and American HIMARS missiles were also shot down by the defense system. But some of the surviving drones had reached close to the Kirishi refinery. This refinery is one of the two largest refineries in Russia.

Ukrainian drone destroyed in the air - Alexander Drozdenko

Leningrad Governor Alexander Drozdenko has said that three Ukrainian drones flying in the Kirishi area were destroyed in the sky by the air defense system. Their burning remains fell on the refinery and it caught fire. One person was injured in this accident. While Ukraine's drone command center has said that a successful drone attack was carried out. The Kirishi refinery refines 3,55,000 barrels of crude oil per day. This is 6.4 percent of Russia's total oil refining capacity.
