News Topical, Digital Desk : Nawabganj police have apprehended two teenage girls who escaped from the Government Girls' Home, Khyora, seven days ago. The Nawabganj police have apprehended both girls. On Friday afternoon, they were presented before a magistrate and their statements are being recorded.

This was the whole matter

On March 27th, two teenage girls escaped from the Government Girls Home by jumping from the roof at night. One of them was found abandoned in Prayagraj six months ago, and the other a year and a quarter ago in Mathura. The Child Welfare Committee had ordered both of them to be kept in the Government Girls Home. 

On March 27, two teenage girls escaped from the Government Girls' Home by eluding security guards and jumping from the back roof. The District Probation Officer wrote a letter requesting action against three departmental employees and three home guards. A petition was also filed at the Nawabganj police station to file a report.

Abandoned teenage girls are kept in the Government Girls Home, Khyora. A teenage girl found in Prayagraj six months ago was sent here on 24 September 2025. Her mother and father have passed away and she is a resident of Sujatganj. Similarly, on 12 November 2025, a teenage girl was sent to the girls home on the orders of Mathura Child Welfare Committee. Before this, she was in Gautam Buddh Nagar Girls Home. This teenage girl also does not have parents. Her uncle and aunt came to take her but she does not want to live with them.

Both the girls ran away from the Balika Grih on Thursday night. On getting the information at night, Superintendent Akanksha Bajpai and the Child Line team were engaged in the search till Friday afternoon. When they were not found, the officers were informed in the evening. District Probation Officer Vikas Singh had told that a letter was written to the Directorate for action against three departmental employees. A letter was written to the Commandant against the three Home Guards engaged in security. An application was given by the Superintendent to the Nawabganj Police Station for lodging a report. After the two girls ran away, the Women's Directorate had recommended to the District Magistrate to suspend one employee and terminate the services of two employees working on contract. A letter was written to the Commandant for action against the three Home Guards. The Balika Grih Superintendent had lodged a report in the Nawabganj Police Station.
