A direct target on Trump
House Foreign Affairs Committee Democrats have shared a post on the social media site X, which mentions the statement of US Representative Gregory Meeks. It reads, 'Trump's recent tariff tantrum is threatening years of efforts to strengthen the US-India partnership.'
He wrote, 'We have deep strategic, economic and people-to-people ties. Concerns should be resolved with mutual respect in accordance with our democratic values.' On the other hand, Donald Trump has said that until the tariff dispute is resolved, there will be no talks on a trade deal with India.
Let us tell you that the 25 percent tariff imposed by Trump has come into effect from August 7. The additional 25 percent i.e. a total of 50 percent tariff will come into effect in the next 21 days. India has made it clear that it will not bow down to America's economic pressure and will take every possible step in the interest of the country.
