News Topical, Digital Desk : Donald Trump has not ruled out a third term as president. He said his latest MRI scan was perfect and he feels physically and mentally capable of serving a third term, and therefore deserves a third term as president.
Trump has categorically ruled out running for vice president in 2028. Trump made the remarks while speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One on his way to Tokyo.
The US Constitution does not allow for a third term.
Although the US Constitution prohibits a third term, Trump, who was elected to the presidency for a second time in 2024, is poised to run for a third term. A constitutional amendment would be necessary to secure Trump's third term. However, Trump's Republican Party lacks the necessary majority to amend the Constitution.
The process of constitutional amendment in America is also very long, due to which it does not seem possible for Trump to become the presidential candidate again and win the 2028 elections.
