News Topical, Digital Desk : The world's richest man, Elon Musk, has responded to a report claiming that Chinese and Russian agents are targeting the US tech industry through deception and inducement, calling it a Silicon Valley sex fraud.
The Tesla CEO posted a screenshot of a report from the British newspaper The Times and jokingly wrote, "You're under attack." The Times published the report, titled "Female spies are waging sex wars to steal intelligence from Silicon Valley." Silicon Valley in the US is the global hub of major tech companies like Facebook, Google, and Apple.
What did Musk say?
"If that's a 10 out of 10, you're an asset," Musk wrote in a post on X. He shared a screenshot of the report, which is being widely circulated. The report claims that China and Russia are sending beautiful women to trap tech workers. They are even marrying them and having children with them to achieve their goals.
The one who helped got caught in the trap
According to the newspaper, James Mulvenon, chief intelligence officer at Pamir Consulting, a company that helps US companies navigate the risks of dealing with China, said he was recently targeted by women posing as spies, alleging they tried to force romantic or sexual relationships in exchange for secret information about US technology.
The trick to stealing business ideas
According to the report, China also organizes startup competitions in the US to steal business ideas. A US parliamentary committee reported in February that the Chinese Communist Party was involved in more than 60 espionage cases in the US over the past four years. Startups and educational institutions are being targeted.
