Barabanki News: There was a stir in Barabanki district of Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday when the District Magistrate (DM) office received an email threatening to blow it up with a bomb. After this information, the administration and security agencies immediately swung into action. The DM office and the surrounding area were evacuated and the police force along with the bomb squad conducted a thorough search of the entire premises.
According to the information received, the threat was sent from an unknown email ID, in which it was clearly written that the DM office would be blown up with a bomb. As soon as this information reached the concerned officials, the SP, ADM, CO and police teams from several police stations immediately left for the spot. The bomb squad and dog squad conducted an intensive search operation in the office and the surrounding premises for several hours.
After 3 hours of investigation, the officials declared it to be fake information.
After about 3 hours of intensive investigation, no suspicious object was found and finally, heaving a sigh of relief, the officials declared it to be fake information. However, the police is taking this matter seriously and is engaged in identifying the sender of the email.
Barabanki SP Dinesh Kumar said that even if this information turns out to be fake, it cannot be ignored. He said that such emails coming from digital sources are being investigated by the cyber cell. The IP address from which this mail has been sent is being tracked.
It is worth noting that in recent years, the incidents of fake bomb threats have increased
across the country. Attempts have been made to spread fear by targeting schools, malls, railway stations and government offices. In such cases, the police and the team of cyber experts are constantly on alert to catch the culprits.
Threatening to bomb an important government institution like the DM office is not only a crime in the eyes of the law, but is also a big threat to social peace. Barabanki Police has appealed to the people not to pay attention to rumors and immediately report any suspicious activity.
At present, it is a matter of relief that this information was false and there was no loss of life or property. Due to the promptness of the police and administration, a big panic was averted. Investigation is going on, and soon the person who sent the threat will be identified.
