News Topical, Digital Desk : US President Donald Trump and the world's richest man, Elon Musk, had a heated exchange a few months ago, but now they appear to be good friends again.

During a dinner with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman at the White House, Trump publicly called out Elon Musk three times and jokingly said, "Elon, you're so lucky I'm with you!"

Then he asked with a smile, "Has he ever thanked me properly?"

In response, Elon Musk immediately thanked Trump in a post on Twitter. "I want to thank President Trump for all he's done for America and the world," Musk wrote. He also shared photos from the White House, showing him standing with Trump, the Saudi Crown Prince, and Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang.

"You're so lucky I'm with you."

The dinner took place during the US-Saudi Investment Forum. Trump was praising his new tax bill, which provides special exemptions for American-made vehicles. Pointing to Musk, Trump said, “Elon, you're very lucky to have me here.”

Then he added with a laugh, "Has he ever thanked me properly or not?"

Trump's humorous remark was well received by those present. A few hours later, Musk openly thanked and praised Trump.

The bitter breakup happened just a few months ago.

It's worth noting that Elon Musk headed the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) in the Trump administration from January to May 2025. Trump even referred to him as "First Buddy." However, Musk left the position on May 30th, as soon as his Special Government Employee contract expired.

Before leaving, Musk openly criticized Trump's massive government spending plan, called the "Big Beautiful Bill." The tension between the two was clearly visible at the time. Now, the White House dinner and Musk's thank-you post suggest that the situation hasn't escalated.
