
News Topical, Digital Desk : Solarworld Energy IPO: The IPO of solar company Solarworld Energy Solutions opened for subscription on Tuesday (September 23, 2025). Interested investors can bid until Thursday (September 25, 2025). The company aims to raise ₹490 crore (approximately $1.2 billion) through this issue. Prior to the IPO opening, Solarworld Energy Solutions raised ₹220.5 crore (approximately $1.2 billion) from 14 anchor investors on September 22.
VQ FasterCap Fund was the largest anchor investor, purchasing 12.79 lakh shares worth ₹44.89 crore. PineBridge Global Funds, Singularity AMC, and Motilal Oswal AMC each purchased 7.09 lakh shares worth ₹24.89 crore.
Other anchor investors include Citigroup Global, BNP Paribas, Varenium Dynamic Trust, Nuvama Private Investment Trust, Cognizant Capital, LC Pharos, India Max Investment Fund, Capri Global, Golden Equity Fund, and Astron Capital.
Price Band and IPO Structure The IPO price band has been fixed at ₹333-351 per share, with a lot size of 42 shares. Retail investors will need a minimum of ₹14,742 to bid. The IPO comprises a fresh issue of shares worth ₹440 crore and an offer-for-sale (OFS) of ₹50 crore.
Purpose of the IPO: The company will use the funds raised to set up a 1.2 GW solar PV topcone cell manufacturing facility in Pandhurna, Madhya Pradesh, through Kartik SolarWorld. The remaining proceeds will be used for general corporate purposes.
Book-Running Lead Managers and Registrars: Nuvama Wealth Management and SBI Capital Markets are the book-running lead managers for the IPO, while MUFG Intime India is the registrar.
Allotment and Listing: IPO shares can be allotted on September 26th. The company's shares are expected to be listed on the BSE and NSE on September 30th.
Should you invest? Brokerage firm Anand Rathi has given the issue a 'Subscribe for long term' rating. The brokerage said that SolarWorld Energy Solutions operates in a highly competitive market. The growth of the solar energy sector in India is driven by strong government support, with tenders for various projects playing a key role. Anand Rathi believes the company is well-positioned to capitalize on these trends over the long term. Regarding valuation, the company is seeking a P/E of 39.6x based on FY2025 earnings and a post-issue market cap of approximately ₹3,042 crore.
