News Topical, Digital Desk : D. Suresh, an Indian Administrative Service officer and Additional Chief Secretary to the Haryana government, has raised questions about the suicide of Y. Puran Kumar, a former Indian Police Service officer. Speaking to reporters after meeting with Amneet Kumar, the IAS officer and Puran Kumar's wife, D. Suresh questioned why the Chandigarh Police have not yet arrested Shatrughan Kapoor, the Haryana government's Director General of Police .
Suresh said of DGP Shatrughan Kapoor, “A man who hates Dalits and is constantly harassing them. Why isn't an FIR being filed against him and the Rohtak SP, who incited Y Puran Kumar to commit suicide?”
He said that the rights granted by the architect of the Constitution, Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar, should be granted. That's not happening. This isn't a political issue. On behalf of the Dalit community, we are asking the Chandigarh DGP why arrests aren't being made. Accusing DGP Shatrughan Kapoor of orchestrating the arrests illegally, D. Suresh asked why he wasn't being arrested and why action wasn't being taken against the Rohtak Superintendent of Police.
Chandigarh Police has formed a six-member Special Investigation Team to investigate the suicide of IPS Y Puran Kumar. This SIT, headed by Chandigarh IG Pushpendra Kumar, will investigate the case.
Apart from Pushpendra Kumar, this SIT includes IPS Kanwardeep Kaur, SP City IPS KM Priyanka, CPS DSP Traffic Charanjit Singh, CPS Gurjeet Kaur and Inspector Jairveer Singh Rana.
