News Topical, Digital Desk : Bollywood actor  Saif Ali Khan  's name is currently in the news for his ancestral property worth Rs 15000 crore in Bhopal. The matter has taken a new turn after the Madhya Pradesh High Court's decision to hear the case again, due to which Saif's troubles may increase.

In such a situation, let us know what are the reasons due to which Saif Ali Khan and his family may lose the royal heritage of Bhopal.

Difficulties increased due to the decision of the High Court

Saif Ali Khan's great grandfather was Hamidullah Khan, the last Nawab of Bhopal. It was from him that Saif and his family inherited this property worth 15 thousand crores, which is now in danger of slipping out of their hands.

The reason for this is the decision of the Madhya Pradesh High Court, in which the decision of the trial court of Bhopal in the year 2000 has been rejected, under which it was said that the real owners of this Nawabi property of Bhopal are Saif Ali Khan, his mother Sharmila Tagore and sister Soha Ali Khan.

The High Court has ordered a re-hearing on the entire matter and a deadline of one year has been set for bringing a result on it.

How did the property come into discussion again

In fact, other heirs of Nawab Hamidullah Khan had filed a petition in the court regarding this property matter. They believed that the entire dispute should be heard on the basis of Muslim Personal Law Act 1937. In 1999, a petition was filed on their behalf in the lower court of Bhopal regarding the property worth Rs 15000 crore.

The verdict on this case was in favour of Saif Ali Khan and his family 25 years ago. Now the Madhya Pradesh High Court has cancelled the verdict of the trial court and ordered a retrial.

Government declared it as enemy property

In the year 2014, a notice was issued to Saif Ali Khan by the Central Government. In which it was said that his royal family's property worth 15 thousand crores will be declared enemy property, which will be applicable under the Enemy Property Act of 1968.

Actually, the meaning of the Enemy Property Act is that if any member of the family of the real heir of the property goes to Pakistan and acquires citizenship there, then this Act will be applicable on his property.

However, in 2015, Saif had taken a stay from the court against this, but at the end of last year, on 13 December 2024, this stay was removed by the High Court and Saif was given a fixed time to claim the matter again, which has passed and no claim has been filed.

Saif Ali Khan's connection with the last Nawab of Bhopal

Since the last Nawab of Bhopal Hamidullah Khan had three daughters, including Saif Ali Khan's grandmother Sajida Sultan and his other two sisters. One of those sisters, Abida Sultan, went to Pakistan after partition and took citizenship there.

Sajida was married to Nawab Iftikhar Ali Khan of Pataudi. This property in Bhopal came in the name of their son Mansoor Ali Khan and then grandson Saif Ali Khan. Let us tell you that this property was declared enemy property due to Sajida's sister Abida Sultan moving to Pakistan.
