News Topical, Digital Desk : External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar will meet his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov in Moscow on Monday to discuss bilateral cooperation.
Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said the Indian minister will arrive in Moscow with an official delegation for the SCO Council of Heads of State meeting, which will be held on November 17-18. She added that the Russian Foreign Minister will hold talks with the Indian Foreign Minister on November 17.
The two leaders will discuss current and future political cooperation and review key issues in bilateral relations, he said. They will also exchange views on major international and regional issues, including cooperation within the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), BRICS, the United Nations, and the G20.
Jaishankar is also expected to virtually inaugurate two Indian consulates in Kazan, the capital of Tatarstan in the Volga region, and Ekaterinburg in the Ural Islands.
Russian President Vladimir Putin is expected to visit India around December 5 for the annual summit with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Putin last visited New Delhi in 2021.
