News Topical, Digital Desk : Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) chief Tarique Rahman will be sworn in as the new Prime Minister of Bangladesh on Tuesday (February 17, 2026). Thirteen countries, including India and Pakistan, have been invited to the swearing-in ceremony. However, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will not be able to attend; Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla will travel to Dhaka in his place. As soon as this news reached Pakistan, experts there began to speculate.

Pakistani expert Qamar Cheema sarcastically said that since the Bangladeshi Prime Minister attended PM Modi's swearing-in ceremony, he should also attend. The Pakistani expert also stated that Pakistani PM Shahbaz Sharif will not travel to Dhaka. The AI Impact Summit began in India on February 16th and will continue until February 20th. French President Emmanuel Macron will also be attending the summit. Consequently, PM Modi will not travel to Dhaka, yet Pakistani experts are making absurd claims.

Kamar Cheema also expressed his displeasure over the invitation to India, saying that Tariq Rahman had made a grave mistake by sending the invitation; he should have issued a strong statement regarding India on the very first day. Regarding Shahbaz Sharif's visit to Dhaka, Kamar Cheema said that Pakistan would first see what the new Bangladesh government offers to Pakistan.

Pakistani expert Qamar Cheema said that even the Pakistani Prime Minister will not attend Tariq Rahman's swearing-in ceremony, preferring to see what the new Bangladesh government offers him first. He added that there are also discussions within Pakistan that Muhammad Yunus hasn't visited Pakistan in the past one and a half to two and a quarter years, so we too need to see what Tariq Rahman brings to the table.

Kamar Cheema said that Bangladesh is a challenge for everyone at this time, there is an issue of their economy, they have issues with India, they have to fix the 50-year-old relations with Pakistan, they have to tell China what their position is.

He said that India's free trade agreement with the 27 countries of the European Union poses a significant threat to Bangladesh's textile industry, as Bangladesh is the second largest textile exporter to the EU after China. Kamar Cheema falsely alleged that India has carried out a surgical strike on Bangladesh to destroy its economy. Kamar Cheema said that Pakistan also faces the same threat, but we manage because we have GSP Plus status, otherwise there is nothing, so this is very important.
