News Topical, Digital Desk : Amidst the ongoing protests in Iran for the past several days, US President Donald Trump has issued a stern warning to Tehran. He said that if Iran continues to use violence against its own people, it will face serious consequences. Trump clearly stated, "Tehran should behave better."

Trump, speaking to reporters after an event in Detroit, said he would review the situation in Iran upon returning to the White House and gather accurate death tolls. He expressed deep concern about the violence against protesters and reports of alleged executions.

What did Trump say about 'democracy in Iran'?

When a reporter asked Trump if he wanted to see democracy in Iran, Trump replied, "Ideally, we would like to see that. We don't want people dying, and we want some freedom for these people. These people have been living a hell of a life for a long time."

Trump further stated that some of his friends previously invested in Iran, and that everything was fine there. The people were good, even the leadership was fine, but now things have worsened. He expressed sympathy for the Iranian people, saying he doesn't want to see such brutality.

Direct ultimatum to Iran

Taking a dig at Iran's threat to retaliate against US attacks, Trump said, "Iran said the same thing last time, when I blew up their nuclear capability, which they no longer have. So they should behave better."

He sent a message to Iran's leadership that they should show humanity. "If they start killing thousands of people and now you're telling me about executions, let's see how you do that. It's not going to be good for them," Trump said.
