
News Topical, Digital Desk : Reacting to India's attacks on terrorist camps in Pakistan in response to the Pahalgam attack, US President Donald Trump has said that America knew something was going to happen and he hopes "it will be over very soon".
Responding to a question at a press conference, Trump said that we heard about it as soon as we came into the Oval Room. I think we knew based on some of the past that something was going to happen.
The conflict will end soon: Trump
In an apparent reference to India and Pakistan, the US President said, "They have been fighting for decades and centuries. No, I just hope it ends very soon."
Ajit Doval spoke to US NSA
Soon after the Indian air strike on Pakistan, NSA Ajit Doval spoke to the US NSA and Foreign Minister Marco Rubio. This information was given by the Indian Embassy. According to sources, senior Indian officials spoke to their counterparts from the US, UK, Saudi Arabia, UAE and Russia.
Pak army confirmed air strike
Army spokesman Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry said the missiles fired by India targeted Kotli and Muzaffarabad in Jammu and Kashmir and Bahawalpur in Punjab province. Three Pakistanis were killed and 12 injured in the missile attacks.
However, officials said the Indian strikes targeted five locations in Kotli, Muzaffarabad and Bagh in PoK and Bahawalpur and Muridke areas in Punjab.
Pak airspace closed
An army spokesman said India carried out air strikes on three locations in Bahawalpur's Ahmad East area - Subhanullah Mosque, Kotli and Muzaffarabad. Pakistan has closed its airspace for all air traffic for 48 hours.
