New Delhi: The meeting of the Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) on the Waqf Amendment Bill 2024 will be held on September 19 and 20 as per schedule. Earlier on Wednesday, the scheduled meeting was postponed. JPC chairman and BJP MP Jagdambika Pal said on Wednesday that the meeting was postponed after the request of some members.
Meeting will be held today and tomorrow
Speaking to reporters, Jagadambika Pal said that the meeting of the Joint Parliamentary Committee was to be held on 18, 19 and 20 September. But some of our members said that Ganesh Chaturthi is on the 17th and Eid-e-Milad procession is being taken out. Due to this, today's meeting will be held on 19 and 20 September as per the schedule.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday said that the Waqf (Amendment) Bill 2024 which addresses the management, protection and misuse of Waqf properties will be passed in Parliament in the coming days. Addressing a press conference on the first 100 days of the PM Modi government's third term, Shah said, "The Waqf (Amendment) Bill, 2024 is committed to the management, protection and misuse of Waqf properties. It will be passed in Parliament in the coming days."
