News Topical, Digital Desk : Vehicles will soon be speeding on the first six-lane flyover in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh, which will elevate traffic ease. Construction is nearly complete, and preparations for its inauguration have begun. Once the maintenance work on the old bridge over the Rapti River is complete, the newly constructed flyover will be open for direct traffic from Nausadh to Padleganj. However, traveling via the flyover to the Deoria bypass will require a slight wait. Work on the connecting four-lane flyover is currently underway.

Gorakhpur's first six-lane flyover is one of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's dream projects to improve road connectivity and ease of transportation. The flyover, spanning over 2.6 km on the Nausadh-Padleganj road, is being constructed at a cost of ₹429.49 crore.

99% work completed

According to the implementing agency, Setu Nigam, construction on the straight section of the flyover is 99 percent complete. Some finishing work remains, and that work is being completed rapidly. The flyover will soon be dedicated to the public.

City residents will get relief from traffic jams

Once traffic begins on the six-lane flyover, local residents and travelers will now be relieved of the heavy traffic and congestion that often plagues this route daily. Travelers from Lucknow, Varanasi, Azamgarh, and Prayagraj will significantly save time entering the city or traveling via the city to Maharajganj, Deoria, or Kushinagar.

It's worth noting that several major projects are currently in the pipeline for the general public in Gorakhpur, thanks to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and the BJP government. Development work is ongoing in the city. Furthermore, industrialization has led to increased investment and employment in the region.
