The friendship of Modi-Shah is decades old
Everyone must have heard stories of friendship between PM Modi and the country's Home Minister Amit Shah, but not everyone is aware of its history. The friendship between Modi and Shah (Friendship Day wishes) is decades old and is also considered the strongest in Indian politics.
Modi-Shah's relationship dates back to the 1980s. They have been friends since the time when Modi was not even the CM of Gujarat. Both friends met in an RSS meeting. At that time Modi was an RSS pracharak and Shah was an ordinary RSS volunteer.
Shah had said in a statement that many people meet like this in RSS branches, but they become close friends. Former Gujarat Chief Minister Shankarsinh Vaghela had described the friendship between Shah and Modi as 'birds of the same feather'.
Friendship of Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Advani
Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Lal Krishna Advani became friends in the 1950s. Both were in the Bharatiya Jana Sangh, which is now known as the Bharatiya Janata Party. Although BJP is now called the world's largest and most powerful party, but both these leaders are considered to have played an important role in making it capable.
Vajpayee and Advani had jointly opposed the Emergency imposed by former PM Indira Gandhi. From 1999 to 2004, Vajpayee was the PM of the country while Advani was the Home Minister and Deputy Prime Minister.
Both used to go to eat golgappas
Once Advani had told through an article that he had a very special friendship with Vajpayee. He also talked about his youth days and said that both of them were fond of eating golgappas. Both of them used to go to Connaught Place on a scooter to eat golgappas. Both of them were also very interested in watching movies and reading books.
Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia: They did not leave each other even in difficult times
The friendship between Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal and Deputy CM Manish Sisodia has been quite famous. The friendship between the two started when Sisodia was a journalist by profession and Kejriwal was an Indian Revenue Service officer. Kejriwal used to run an NGO, where both of them met. After this, Sisodia left his job and formed the Public Cause Research Foundation.
After this, both of them joined social activist Anna Hazare in the anti-corruption campaign in 2011. After this, both of them formed the Aam Aadmi Party. Now when Kejriwal and Sisodia got embroiled in the liquor scam, even then both the leaders did not leave each other and are standing firmly with each other.
When is International Friendship Day celebrated?
Friendship Day is celebrated every year in August. It is celebrated on the first Sunday of this month (Is today friendship day in India) . As today i.e. 4th August is the first Sunday, therefore it is being celebrated today.
