News Topical, Digital Desk : The ponds in the villages of Greater Noida are now not only becoming a means of water conservation, but also a symbol of identity and beauty. The Greater Noida Authority has started a unique campaign to renovate the ponds under the leadership of CEO N.G. Ravi Kumar. Private participation and social organizations are also playing an important role in this effort.
The example of this campaign is clearly visible in the ponds of Dabra and Jaitpur villages. These lake-like places, once filled with garbage, have now not only been cleaned by the authority and the team of ' pond man ' Ramveer Tanwar , but also plantation was done all around. Plants like Peepal, Neem, Banyan and Lemon have been planted on the banks of the pond of Dabra village . In the coming days, this greenery will make the pond a center of natural beauty. Now the water of these ponds also looks clean, which has made the local residents happy.
According to the project department, there are a total of 281 ponds in the Greater Noida area, out of which 194 ponds have been cleaned so far. Out of these, 41 ponds have been cleaned with private participation. The cleaning of the remaining ponds will also be completed soon. Wherever there is encroachment on the ponds, they will be freed with the help of police and administration so that they can also be redeveloped .
The life of aquatic creatures remains safe in the pond
Srilakshmi VS, ACEO of Greater Noida Authority, said that ponds not only help in maintaining the groundwater level, but also protect the lives of aquatic animals living in them. Clean ponds enhance the beauty of villages and people can also enjoy strolling around them. The authority itself, along with NGOs and private participation, will continue the work of conserving ponds. We appeal to social organizations and people to join this campaign and contribute in making Greater Noida clean and beautiful.
