The scene of eating beef biryani created a ruckus.

The film's recent release is in jeopardy due to a delay in the film's certification by the CBFC. According to the film's PRO, the CBFC has asked the makers to remove 15 scenes, including one depicting beef biryani. However, according to the film's PRO, the makers have denied the presence of beef biryani in the film and called the CBFC's suggestion about the scene merely an assumption. If the film follows the suggested changes, it is expected to receive an A certificate from the censor board.

The makers approached the Kerala High Court.

The makers have approached the Kerala High Court against the censor board's decision. Shane Nigam's Hala is directed by Veera and written by Nishad K. Koya. Besides Shane Nigam, the film also stars Sakshi Vaidya and Johny Antony. Previously, the producers had postponed the film's release date to avoid a clash with the actor's other film, Balti.

The film was scheduled to release today. Both big-budget films starring Shane Nigam were scheduled to release around the same time. Although Hala was initially planned for release in September, due to delays in the censorship process and the release of Balti, a new release date was announced.
