New Delhi: Many Hindus have died due to violent protests in Bangladesh (Bangladesh News) . An interim government has also been formed in the neighboring country after Sheikh Hasina was ousted from power  .

Despite this, the violence is so intense that yesterday the mob gave an ultimatum to  the Chief Justice of Bangladesh, Obaidul Hasan, after which he had to resign from his post.

No decision on election

It is not yet clear when elections will be held in Bangladesh, but it is certain that Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), led by Khaleda Zia, one of the two major political parties of the country, will play an important role in them.

People were angry with the decisions of the Chief Justice

In an interview to TV channel NDTV, BNP General Secretary Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said that the Chief Justice (Bangladesh Chief Justice) had to resign due to student protests. He said that the Chief Justice was considered close to the Sheikh Hasina government and it was said that he always gives decisions in their favour.

Some people targeted Hindus

  • The BNP leader said attacks on Hindus in the country were the result of some people taking advantage of the situation and asserted that they were not part of any "systematic agenda".
  • He said that when there is any change in any country, some people try to take advantage of it.
  • In Bangladesh too, unfortunately with every revolution, leaders of the ruling party are targeted, whether they are Muslims or Hindus. He acknowledged that there have been attacks on minorities, but he did not call it a political or systematic agenda.

India-Bangladesh relations will improve

Alamgir further said that if Zia was qualified enough, she would lead the BNP into elections and the party would work to improve India-Bangladesh relations if it came to power.
