New Delhi: A major update has come on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train project. Another 100-meter long steel bridge has been launched on August 25 near Silvassa in Dadra and Nagar Haveli. This 1464 metric tonne steel bridge with 14.6 meters height and 14.3 meters width has been prepared at the workshop in Trichy, Tamil Nadu.
A temporary launching nose 84 metres long and weighing 600 metric tonnes was attached to the main bridge for launching. 100 HSFG (High-Strength Friction Grip) bolts were used to connect the components of the launching nose and about 55,250 Tor-Shear Type High Strength (TTHS) bolts were used for the main bridge along with C5 system painting and elastomeric bearings.
A total of 28 steel bridges will be built
This is the fourth bridge of the bullet train project. A total of 28 steel bridges are to be built. Apart from this, a total of 24 bridges are to be built on rivers. Out of these, 20 will be built in Gujarat and four in Maharashtra. A total of 10 bridges have been constructed in Gujarat so far.
The foundation stone was laid in 2017
Let us tell you that Prime Minister Narendra Modi along with his then Japanese counterpart Shinzo Abe laid the foundation stone of the bullet train project in Ahmedabad on 14 September 2017. After this, the National High-Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL) was incorporated on 12 February 2016 under the Companies Act- 2013 for the purpose of financing, construction, maintenance and management of high-speed rail corridors in India.
